The Big Cross Country

Today we had our cross country beside the beach. We all thought it was fun. Lots of Mum and Dads were there taking photos and videos of us.
Sasha came 1st in the 5yr girls.
Jemma came 1st in the 6yr girls, Abby came 4th in the 6yr girls and Riley was 3rd in the 5 year boys race.
We all ran well and some of us were puffed and thirsty.

Today the new classroom arrived on two trucks. A very big crane lifted them off the trucks and placed them on the foundations.

Hello from Christchurch

Hi Room 2

This morning we had to wait 2 hours for our plane to fly out of Hokitika because of the fog. When we finally got to Christchurch we spent the rest of the day at St Albans. They have 27 classes at their school and I saw some great ideas. I hope you have had a good day.
At Bromley School they had a beautiful black cat that slept in the staffroom on a chair.

The New Classroom

This week the builders have been working on the foundations for the new classroom. Today the concrete truck came and poured concrete for the piles. Hopefully next week the Room 7 will arrive!!

Cross Country Training

Today we ran the cross country track so we are now ready for next Wednesday's big race.

Book awards Week at the Library

Today we went for a walk to the library. We went upstairs and Mary read us 2 of the books that are up for awards. After this we got to do a treasure hunt around the library. Daniel won a prize and it was a book.

Letter of the week

Cross country training

We have been preparing for the cross country by getting fit. Each day we do some exercise and today we ran around the court. When we went round once we got a stick. At the end of 10 minutes we counted our sticks and next time we are going to try to beat our own score.

Afterwards we used the iceblock sticks to make 2D shapes.

Geometry

This term we are learning about shapes and how to sort and describe them. Today we made some shape pictures.
The shapes we are learning about are
circle  triangle rectangle square oval pentagon hexagon octagon
and we liked the word nonagon.
