Weather Balloon

Today we went up to the airport to watch the weather balloon be released. They let a weather balloon go 3 times a day.
The balloon is filled with hydrogen. Hydrogen is a very dangerous gas and it can explode. so it is filled up inside a metal hut. They put a tracker on the bottom of the balloon and that sends signals to the radar.

Helium Balloons

Today we went to the florist and Melissa filled up 6 helium balloons for us. We took them back to school and talked about them and then let them go. On Friday we are going to go and watch the weather balloon be released up at Hokitika airport. What do you know about helium gas?

The Big Cross Country

Today we had our cross country beside the beach. We all thought it was fun. Lots of Mum and Dads were there taking photos and videos of us.
Sasha came 1st in the 5yr girls.
Jemma came 1st in the 6yr girls, Abby came 4th in the 6yr girls and Riley was 3rd in the 5 year boys race.
We all ran well and some of us were puffed and thirsty.

Today the new classroom arrived on two trucks. A very big crane lifted them off the trucks and placed them on the foundations.
